Nancy Kent Smith

Nancy Kent Smith has spent her professional life in the media business. 

In her work as Regional News Director for Raycom Media, Nancy supported the operations of newsrooms across the country ranging from WOIO in Cleveland Ohio to Hawaii News Now in Honolulu Hawaii.  

Before joining Raycom, she served as the Vice President of News for Lincoln Financial Media and Vice President, News for Jefferson Pilot Communications.  

Nancy is an adjunct instructor of Media Economics and Management in the mass communications master’s program of the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture where she serves on the advisory board. 

She holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Political Science and Media from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree from the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture,  

In 2005 she was honored with the George Bowles, Jr. Award for distinguished service in broadcast news by the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.
